I believe Winwood played all parts, none of the rest of the band played on this, I remember an article in Melody Maker at the time saying that Ginger Baker was impressed by the drumming on this.

In the early days of 1966, I was enamored with the prospect of wanting to play bass guitar.  My dad made me a deal to use an old acoustic guitar and, within 2 weeks, prove to him that I had the ability to warrant him buying me an electric bass.  This was one of the songs that I learned note-by-note in order to persuade him into buying me my first bass guitar.  I still have it and use it from time to time. A Kay "Value Leader" ultra short scale bass (18 frets), bought for $75, now worth very much much more (and not just for sentimental reasons!).

Tadpole, this is Steve Winwood on the Hammond. Not only is this Winwood, but he was 16 years old when he laid this down. Wow!!!!!

Great track - used to have this single. Definitely Steve WInwood and pre Hardin. Steve was a teenage prodigy on guitar, keys and what a voice. And still great.

The Mozart of his nonclassical/nonjazz generation. Superb bass player too.

This is definitely Stevie on the Hammond. The song was recorded in 1966 long before Eddie Hardin joined the band and if you pause the video and read the record label, he is also credited as the composer of the song. No disrespect to Hardin, who was an incredible musician in his own right, but this is Stevie Winwood all the way.
