City streets and rolling cars
The only sound you can hear
But you know you might be wrong
Just look right over here
Back up against the wall
Hands on the bottle
You’re gonna walk on by Then he cries you gotta, gotta, gotta
Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta
Take that sinner boy home
Wrap him up, keep him warm
He won’t do no harm
Take him home right away
He’s got no place to stay
Let him walk right inside your home
Go on and ask him his name
Let him try and explain
What in the world done him wrong
Tell the man, lift him up Take away the paper cup
One more inside him won’t do him no good
Sinner boy
Take that sinner boy home
Wrap him up, keep him warm
He won’t do no harm
Take him home right away
He’s got no place to stay
Let him walk right inside your home
Take that sinner boy home
Wrap him up, keep him warm
He won’t do you, he won’t do you no harm
This makes me say to myself "How the fuck can anyone play guitar like that"? Fucking far out Rory me boy. And did you know that the drummer left the stage after the gig and rushed straight to California to write and star in the film Easy Rider with Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson.
Saw Taste and Family twice that summer ...Both played at Isle Of Wight and at The Nottingham progressive music festival .Both incredible bands , still play this stuff today ...Oh how lucky we were !!
See the geezer playing drums? You know who that is dont you? straight after this gig he flew to the states to get on his chopper cos he was starring in Easy Rider with Dennis Hopper.
That story about Jimi saying that Rory is the best is a silly urban myth ... but who cares! Rory and Jimi were not so small-minded that they looked at music as a sports competition with ratings and gradings and stats and bests and second-bests, etc. Unfortunately, many of their so-called “fans” today ARE like that.
Actually touted for the Stones gig when Mick Taylor left and would have blown the rest of them off the stage which is why Mick Jagger went for the safer option of Ron Wood.
