I saw the man live and watched him leave the stage come back do an encore bowed for at least five minutes drove the audience to a frenzy while he blew kisses out to the crowd. the true essence of a ring master. It truly was something to wittness and remember. That was forty years ago and it still puts a smile on my face. Yeah might as well go play sing a simple song!

When I listen to this, the turnaround is a trick - this doesnt sound like enough chord changes to match up into eight bars - how the hell did this man work and think - amazing. Plus the cat mixed, played keys, bass, sneaky blues guitar, better-that-average harmonica, even at Woodstock - for 10 seconds worth of musical arrangement, but laid down right on time.) Incredible.

as much as people wanna throw de la and jungle bros for sampling sly, the biggest and first person to sample sly was Prince. he interpolated this song for a classic b ide to Kiss called Love or Money. The he lifted the intro chords from Remember Who You Are for and the groove from Family Affair and made Ballad Of Dorothy Parker
