Seal has a devastating auto immune disease which attacks connective tissue called Lupus that has effected every area of his life, including those who love him. It has been reportedly rumored his difficulties in coping when the disease attacked his face and began to ravage his body severely crippled his marriage to Heidi. You can see in his early videos how clear his skin is as compared to later albums. His emotions are raw and almost tactile in his music. Expressing deep pain and scarring, both literally and figuratively. These things often bring the experiences of deep loss and pain. Something all people can relate too. If not the experiences but the emotions which connect us all.
