This record Columbia DB.4418 is interesting as it is the last 78rpm issue on this label, so all further single releases on Columbia from then on was 45rpm only in the UK. But due to great improvements these late 78s sounded far superior at the time to the 45s. Was a big mistake to end the 78 format the way it did
Interesting that you can hear the backing guitars much clearer on this stereo mix (which I assume is taken from the box set CD), than the mono single. I understand it took Russ a while to get this right at the recording session, but it was worth it - superb in every way.
