The song basically tells the woe of an unreturned love. She does not even care if his porridge is hot cold, wet or dry. Porridge was important. When I was Wester Ross we had the porridge every morning, come to think of it we had it even when I was not. This is the closest thing to a Gaelic Anthem there is.
