Philly Joe had that power man. Hard to describe how powerful he propelled a drum solo I know a lot about digging Art Blakey and the Painter Max Roach. Philly Joe when he played always reminded me of a thousand cruise missiles going out at one time and no stopping Philly Joe when he wanted you to wake up and pay attention. I know Buddy Rich loved him and Philly had mutual respect for Buddy. All the Master Drummers are gone now. Really no one to look up to right now with these ideas and masterful chops.
