Taking lovers just might keep my tears at bay, but the damn will break at any hour” ~this was a perfect description of my life when I found this song and album. I had just left the man whom I thought was the love of my life, but who as holding me back from my full potential (“Sometimes we start over and go solo..”). I broke my own heart in a way but it was the right thing to do. And so I felt like a gold balloon that wandered high (empowered), waltzing (dancing my way into new life experiences) through rainbows (amazing experiences) and showers (hard times and down moments). And I took lovers who in hindsight were terrible for me but at the time they kept my tears at bay (I got over that phase in time). And I certainly felt like an island (isolated) while the rest of the world kept turning (moving on while I was still stuck in heartache). I listened to this on repeat many a time during that period of my life <3
