One of my favorite singers

Joni was ou favorite girl singer in the USMC at Cherry Pt, and I am stillin her Fan Club. I think she is still alive and well in florida, but many dont seem to remember her, but her LP albums are very rare, andI paid about 25 dollars to get them andI have ,many of them, so hey are collectors items!!!!

I first heard Joni on Armed Forces Radio while serving in Japan during the Korean War. She was the best of a great crop of female songbirds of that era, including Jo Stafford, Patti Page, Teresa Brewer, Kitty Kallen, Gogi Grant, and others. Unfortunately, at the height of her career, she quit to care for her ailing husband. MGM replaced her with Connie Francis. She resumed her career later, but rock and roll was popular by then and she could never get into that style. I have bought every record, tape, and disc of Joni that I could find, many at used record stores. Still love her.
