My grandfather grew up in the depression era and knew all of his songs in his short life, died from TB. When I became a teen I was shocked to know that the Rolling Stones, Waylon Jennings, Lynard Skynard and a BUNCH more all got inspiration from Jimmie ! Listen to Skynard do this song sometime....... Still love it today.

I grew up from early 60s on with my dad playing this on the Victrola. Even today my dad at almost 90 years old likes that Skynard version and is pretty certain Jimmie would have as well, But my dad saw Elvis and Johnny Cash open a show for Jim Reeves in 1953 so how ya gonna argue with that
