I would trade a ton of technique for an ounce of soul although Mike Pinera has boatloads of both as did players like SRV and Rory Gallagher. The blues is about feeling not how many notes you play.

Can still remember Blues Image blowing Iron Butterfly off the stage at Hemisfair Arena in San Antonio, Tx, 11/16/69, especially with this time. MP is a phenomenal guitar player, who is vastly underrated!! The rest of the group was equally adept on their respective instruments.
