This has got to be one of the best black metal songs ever. Or at the very least, the verse riff is among the top 10 black metal riffs of all time. You know the one I mean, it elicits the same magic in me now that it did when I was 16.

Hell yes!! I SO agree with your thoughts on this! I think this is my favorite song of theirs and one of my favorites of all..of all bands...of all time! I listen to it daily.
