Night passes slow
Get up moon, go, I can’t take it
My thoughts weigh me down
And I’m prisoner to my blanket
Cause I’m thirsting for
The brilliance of the glorious return of…
The morning
The morning
The morning
The morning
Sleep enter my body
I promise this time we won’t fight you
Dream, come and reveal
What my mind won’t let me feel, I won’t deny you
Bird, where have you gone?
Come and sing me your song, I won’t chide you
Sun, come and crack open the sky
And let your golden light through
Cause I’m thirsting for
The brilliance of the glorious return of…
The morning
The morning
The morning
The morning
Fear, you’re not wanted here
Hitch a ride with a tear wash away then
Light is what I yearn for
If it’s behind that door, then let me break it
The morning
The morning
The morning
The morning
Nice. She write in a lot of different styles. This one is kind of Sheryl Crow-ish, music-wise. Vey solid songwriter, though. Up there with Pink, songwriting-wise, to me.
This reminds me of a road trip in the countryside with me and my friends. Head out to the sky, wind blowing through hair, eyes closed and arms stretched out as the car moves along endlessly. Time keeps going.
I remember when this album was released, I was working at a job I hated. This album played a huge role in helping to keep my sanity during that time. When I drove to and from work, this CD stayed in my CD player. Gills and Tails was my mantra during that time and so incredibly relevant - even today. I am a forever fan of Amel.
